Postdoc biological physics (Dresden)

Postdoctoral positions in biological physics are available at the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems (MPI-PKS) in Dresden.

We are looking for theorists with a strong expertise in continuum mechanics of solids and fluids, statistical physics, soft condensed matter, or related fields.

Research questions in the groups of Ricard Alert, Pierre Haas, Frank Jülicher, Christina Kurzthaler, and Marko Popović include the mechanical principles underlying the spatiotemporal organization of cells and tissues, collective processes involved in cell decision making, the driving forces at the origin of life starting from inanimate molecules, and the physics and transport behaviors of active matter systems. See here for more information.

The deadline for applications is the 5th of May 2024. To apply and for application instructions, see here. Please forward this information to interested candidates.

Thanks a lot and best
